GiveDirect.io veers into health care provision
Africa’s leading blockchain-based universal basic income (UBI) provider is about to launch its new venture ‘The GiveDirect Mobile Clinic’ in the coming days.
The Covid19 pandemic has been a major eye-opener to many countries especially those in Africa on how porous its health systems are. Looking at the inadequacies of health delivery in Ghana, one could only pray our health centres do not get overwhelmed.
Mr Abdul Salam Mahamadu in a statement said; As CEO of a nonprofit organization with the mission of Building the BEST Blockchain Direct Giving solutions to reduce global suffering, I am pleased to bring to you our new project in the area of health. The GiveDirect Mobile Clinic is bound to provide health care services to deprived communities within the Gushegu Municipality.
In the past years from December 2017 to February 2020, the NGO has spent over Ghc 600,000.00 ($102,954.02) in direct donations providing a basic income to extremely poor households captured in our community surveys. It is worth noting that all these funds were raised through our paywall and in cryptocurrencies such as Dash, XLM, Bitcoin etc.
The GiveDirect Mobile Clinic is well equipped with medical supplies, pieces of equipment and medications and will move and station at identified vantage points within deprived communities to offer donation-based health services to the people within these stations.
“We feel we have done our best though much however needs to be done in combating poverty, this time, our able team have decided to tackle what we identified as the most critical need of those living in extreme poverty and that is their health needs”, Abdul said.
